Strawberry Powder Mocktail: 2 Easy Recipes Using Real Fruit

Fruit powder is one of the cleanest ways to make flavoured mocktails — no artificial syrups, no added sugar, just the concentrated taste of real fruit dissolved in a drink. Strawberry powder from Rootiva Organic dissolves easily in cold and sparkling liquids and gives a naturally pink colour without any colouring agents.

Recipe 1 — Strawberry Lime Fizz

Serves 1 | Prep: 2 minutes

  • 1½ teaspoons Rootiva strawberry powder
  • 200ml sparkling water
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 5–6 mint leaves
  • Ice

Method: Dissolve strawberry powder in 2 tablespoons of still water first (this prevents clumping in the sparkling water). Add lime juice. Pour over ice in a tall glass. Top with sparkling water. Stir gently. Add mint.

Recipe 2 — Strawberry Guava Cooler

Serves 1 | Prep: 3 minutes

  • 1 teaspoon Rootiva strawberry powder
  • 1 teaspoon Rootiva pink guava powder
  • 250ml chilled coconut water
  • Squeeze of lemon
  • Ice and a pinch of black salt

Method: Mix both powders into 3 tablespoons of still water to form a smooth slurry. Combine with coconut water. Add lemon and black salt. Pour over ice.

Tips for using fruit powder in drinks

  • • Always pre-dissolve powder in a small amount of still water before adding to sparkling liquid — adding directly to carbonated water causes fizzing and clumping
  • • Use a cocktail shaker for a more thoroughly mixed, slightly frothy result
  • • Fruit powder rim: mix 1 teaspoon strawberry powder with ½ teaspoon salt, spread on a plate, rim the glass before filling

FAQ

How much strawberry powder per glass of mocktail?

1–2 teaspoons per 250ml glass is the standard range. Start with 1 teaspoon and add more to taste. The intensity of flavour varies by batch and personal preference.

Can I use fruit powder in hot drinks?

Yes, but dissolve in cold or warm water first. Avoid adding directly to boiling water — high temperatures degrade some heat-sensitive compounds and can cause clumping.
